Experience the energy body, and how it relates to breath.
Voltaic
The actual, felt charge of breath moving through you — not a concept borrowed from a text, but something you can locate directly. This is where the weekend starts: recognizing energy as a real, physical experience, and understanding exactly how it relates to breath.
Suppression & Friction
What emotion becomes when it's suppressed instead of expressed. Unprocessed feeling doesn't disappear — it generates friction, and friction generates heat, clouding breath, energy, and presence. Learning to read the heat body is the first step to working with what's underneath it.
Presence
Where the first two lead. Underneath the emotion, underneath the heat, is a felt absence — a place awareness hasn't fully reached. Meeting it, rather than managing it, reveals a quality of presence that was there all along.
There's a ceiling most practitioners hit — not from lack of discipline, but because emotion and stored stress are still running in the background.
If you've been practicing qigong, taijiquan, or meditation for a while, you already know this ceiling. It's rarely about technique. It's the static that's still clouding the quality of your breath and energy without you fully seeing it.
This weekend is built for practitioners of any internal art or meditation practice — and for anyone spiritually curious enough to want a grounded way in. Sam Masich brings over four decades of internal arts teaching; Gabriel Shaw brings a clinical, somatic lens to the same terrain. Together, they'll guide you through practices designed to clear specific obstacles, not add more technique on top of what's already blocked.
Friday evening opens the weekend for anyone curious — no experience required. Saturday and Sunday go deeper, for practitioners ready to work directly with breath, energy, and the emotional patterns that have been quietly shaping both.
- Two full days of hands-on instruction with Sam & Gabriel
- Friday evening entry point, included with either weekend registration
- Guided qigong, breathwork, and meditation practice
- Teaching on the energy, heat, and imaginative bodies
- Practices for clearing what's in the way
- Small-group format across two Victoria venues

Four decades of lineage, and a clinical eye on the same terrain.
Internal Arts Master
Sam has trained and taught the internal arts for over four decades, recognized as an eighth-degree master among the "100 Extraordinary Chinese Martial Arts Practitioners" in the world. A formal disciple of Grandmasters Liang Shou-Yu and Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming, and a member of Canada's 1985 National Chinese Martial Arts Team, Sam has taught in over 100 cities across North America, Europe, and China, and created The Masich Internal Arts Method. This weekend, he's turning that lifetime of training toward a question that's outlasted the forms themselves: what is the energy body, and how does it actually relate to breath?
Kinesiologist & Somatic Coach
Gabriel is a kinesiologist, Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and Tai Chi & Qigong instructor trained in the Imperial Yang lineage, with over 20 years of personal practice in the internal arts. He integrates clinical movement science with somatic and energetic work — helping practitioners understand not just how to move, but what's moving underneath: the emotional patterns and stored stress that quietly cloud breath, energy, and presence.
